About Us

My Best Dog Food grew out of concern over Jan's second pure bred dog. She noticed that he seemed to be intolerant of many foods that her first dog could handle fine. She discovered that many of her friends who had pure bred dogs were also having skin and digestive problems. And that many dogs were developing cancers and ill health at very young ages.

Jan Oswald had been researching dog food and related health issues since she got her first English Bulldog in 1994. Since then she has learned a great deal about pure bred dogs and the health issues that relate to them from over breeding.

She was also in the advertising business for twenty five years. Specializing in food photography, she learned a lot about what goes into our food supply and how it can effect our health.

But it wasn't until her dog had illness issues that she began to put together the importance of food in establishing and maintaining a healthy dog.
